Getting started

Connect Bol.com

Go to your Bol.com seller account → Settings → API settings. Create a new API application and copy your Client ID and Client Secret. Enter these on the BolMoneybird settings page and click 'Connect'. BolMoneybird will automatically test the connection.

Connect Moneybird

Go to Moneybird → Settings → Developer → Personal API tokens. Create a new token with full permissions. Copy the token and enter it on the BolMoneybird settings page. Your administration will be automatically detected.

Understanding sync settings

You can configure how often orders are fetched (every 5-15 minutes), whether FBR and/or FBB orders are synchronized, and how many months of historical orders are fetched during the initial sync. All settings are adjustable via Settings → Synchronization.

VAT mapping explained

By default, all products receive your configured VAT rate (usually 21%). Via Settings → Tax you can set exceptions per EAN code or product title. For example: books (9%) or export products (0%). The mapping is applied during every sync.

Returns & credit invoices

When a customer returns a product on Bol.com, BolMoneybird automatically detects this. A credit invoice is created in Moneybird that offsets the original sales invoice. This keeps your administration always in balance.

Common issues

Authentication & API tokens

Check if your API tokens are still valid. Bol.com tokens don't expire, but Moneybird tokens can be revoked. Go to Settings → Connections to check the status.

Sync issues

If orders aren't syncing, check: 1) Is sync enabled? 2) Have you reached your order limit? 3) Are there errors in the sync logs? Go to Sync → Logs for details.

Invoice issues

If invoices aren't being created, check if your Moneybird settings are complete: VAT rate, revenue category, and workflow must be configured.

How do I connect my Bol.com account?

After registration, you'll be guided through a simple wizard. You enter your Bol.com Client ID and Client Secret (found in your Bol.com seller account under API settings). BolMoneybird tests the connection immediately and your password is never stored.

How do I connect my Moneybird administration?

You enter your personal Moneybird API token. Create one via Moneybird → Settings → Developer → Personal API tokens. BolMoneybird automatically detects your administration and can create invoices right away.

What data is synchronized?

BolMoneybird syncs order data (order number, products, amounts, VAT), customer data (name, address), and return information. All data is stored encrypted.

How often are orders synchronized?

Depending on your plan, orders are automatically synced every 5 to 15 minutes. You can also manually trigger a sync from the dashboard.

What happens with returns?

When a customer returns a product on Bol.com, BolMoneybird automatically creates a credit invoice in Moneybird. This keeps your bookkeeping always up-to-date.

Is my data safe?

Absolutely. All API tokens are stored encrypted with AES-256 encryption. Your passwords are never stored — only the API tokens you create yourself. Our servers run on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure.

Can I connect multiple Bol.com shops?

Yes, with the Unlimited plan you can connect multiple Bol.com seller accounts to the same Moneybird administration (+€5/extra account). Ideal if you manage multiple shops.

What if something goes wrong during synchronization?

BolMoneybird has built-in error handling and automatically retries failed syncs. You'll be notified of persistent issues and can view sync logs in your dashboard.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.

Does BolMoneybird work with Bol.com Belgium?

Yes, BolMoneybird supports both Bol.com Netherlands and Bol.com Belgium. VAT rates are automatically applied correctly based on the country of sale.
